“Steel Furnace has helped me tremendously in losing weight and getting in shape for my wedding. Since starting, I have lost 45 pounds and gained a whole new family in the process. Steel Furnace is more than just a gym; it’s a community, and everybody from the coaches to the members are there to help you along the way. I have learned not only how to deadlift 100 pounds over my body weight, but also how to eat properly and fuel myself for the next workout. I now look forward to going to the gym every day and working hard to get stronger and faster. Thanks to Steel Furnace I am no longer considered obese and can easily do 10 strict pull ups in a row. :)”

“Being a Steel Furnace CrossFit member is like being a goal-oriented exercise junkie surrounded by a bunch of goofy people that encourage you to keep on going so you can reach your fitness goals. As funny as this sounds, it is very similar to reality … Becoming a part of this family has changed my fitness routine in a way that even though I feel like I die at the end of every WOD, I look forward to coming back on a daily basis. And although the results on my body and health are a great encouraging factor, I probably wouldn’t feel the same way if it wasn’t because of the friends that I’ve made that die right next to me on every WOD. I would recommend giving it a try to anyone that is looking forward to improving their fitness or just looking for pals to hang out on Friday night. If you are curious about this fun and crazy lifestyle and would like to know more about my experience, you can usually find me at the 6pm class!

“I love Steel Furnace CrossFit because the coaches are about helping regular people achieve a level of fitness and strength they never thought possible. I feel more healthy and stronger and the workouts help me combat the day-to-day stress of my job. The community welcomes everyone regardless of fitness level. Coaches Roy and Abel focus their training on safe and effective movements that allow me to build fitness over a long horizon. As an older athlete, the focus on proper form and movement is key for a long term approach to my health. Commuting to Steel Furnace, I pass three other CrossFit facilities because the coaching and community is second to none.”

“I joined the SFCF family in September 2017 and it’s been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. By October, I got on board committing to personal training with Coach Roy to work on my weaknesses/insecurities, and by April of 2018, I finally got my nutrition on the same page as well. I tell everyone half the work is just showing up and it’s TRUE! I’ve made lifelong friendships, lost 5% body fat, competed in my first CrossFit competition this summer, and I always feel like I’m just getting started. Every day I truly feel stronger, faster, and better than the day before. This box is filled with hustle, heart, and the kindest people you’ll ever meet.”

“Steel Furnace has become my second home, and what keeps me coming back is this community. Not the CrossFit community as a whole, but the Steel Furnace community. It’s like having a perfect extended family that supports you more than I’ve seen anywhere else! Thanks to Coaches Roy and Abel, I went from true beginner, learning every movement at extremely light weight, to a competitive athlete working to Rx in many of the WODs. In my first year, coupled with a nutrition plan, I lost over 40 pounds! This place gives me a safe space to test my fitness, to fail, to get back up and try again as I work towards my goals.”

"The Steel Furnace coaches were welcoming and helped me scale early workouts until my technique and strength were adequately developed. Here I am, 2 years later, PAIN-FREE, in the best shape of my life, and so inspired that, I, too, am now a Crossfit trainer. I know I couldn’t have gotten here on my own. I owe my health (physical & mental) to the Crossfit methodology, coaches Roy & Abel, and the entire Steel Furnace family. Having a supportive, friendly, like-minded group of amazing people/ athletes has drastically improved my life! ”
